Verizon Center Here We Come!!!

To say I am excited is a complete understatement... But in October I'm going to see my boys! NKOTB! OH YEAH!

Yes, I realize that it may come as a shock to some reading this that I was a complete and total Blockhead. Yes, I also realize that all of them are either in their forties or close to being there. Yes, I also realize that I'm in my thirties and a little old to be ogling a "boy" band so to speak. Yes, I realize that some of ya just aren't going to get the fact that I've always hoped they'd reunite and it was one of the highlights of my year when they announced it.

But it's a Blockhead thing and ya'll wouldn't understand. I wouldn't expect you to.

The best part is I'm going with three other Blockheads. Not just any Blockheads mind you. But THE Blockheads I went through the NKOTB induced mania with! Carrie, Many, Heather and I are finally going to get to go see them together like we had always dreamed of. Sure we're in our thirties but at least that is one we get to mark off our list of life goals ;)

Thanks to Carrie and Many's diligence we scored some pretty damn good seats. Unlike the time that Carrie and I went to see them at the WV State Fair we won't be in the nosebleed section. Carrie also pointed out that we won't get rained on this time. Which means we won't have to sport some oh so very fashionable cardboard boxes on our heads. Or change our shirts in the grandstand while we get some very odd looks. In fact we're going to be about 11 rows back from them! This time when I take pictures maybe they won't look like ants.

Maybe Joey and I will lock eyes and it will be love at first sight, and we will have a whirlwind romance, and get married!!! Oh wait... I'm already married. Damn. Guess I won't be marking that one off of my life goals list.

I finally got my composter. Although it isn't that snazzy little one I posted a pick of in one of my previous posts it'll get the job done. In fact it means all the more to me since the real love of my life made it for me! When I tell ya that my husband is the best I truly mean it. I keep throwing some pretty odd requests his way and he never bats an eye. Though sometimes he doesn't quite see my vision. I have a tendency to think he should be able to create what I'm thinking with minimal explaining on my part. But in the end we finally get there :)

So here it is in all it's composting glory:

Sure it isn't as pretty as the one I thought I wanted but it was definitely easier on the wallet and Mack and I had a little fun building it. Now I get the task of teaching Mack and the Punk Monkey what is and isn't compostable. The kid was all set to start throwing any and all garbage into it. Guess that's another list that I'm going to have to post on the fridge. We're still working on the recycling aspect but they're getting there. I've already posted a list up there of what is and isn't recyclable so they can reference it. Hell, I still have to from time to time.

Meanwhile it's Monday and I forgot (yet again) to put the recycling bin out last night. ARRGH! I remembered on my way to the Foolish One's today to pick up some samples when I saw everyone elses sitting empty on the curbs.

I also weeded and watered the garden while Mack and PM prepared to build the composter. I love the fact that it takes about 10 minutes to weed and another 10 minutes to water! After all the hard work we put in (the kid pitched in by moving some rocks) we thought a treat was in order. A trip to Cold Stone always hits the spot.

But I did make that Balsamic Pea Salad from those fresh peas that I shelled. And yes... It was everything I hoped it would be and more! Totally delicious and the addition of the fresh peas instead of the frozen did make a discernible difference.

The three day weekend flew by entirely too fast. Unfortunately tomorrow finds us going back to work. But PM only has three days left of school. Freedom is so close he can almost reach out and touch it!!

Thank you, Princess. I agree. Crazy, crazy ladies. However, I have third row tix to Black Crowes. Not a boy band ;)
Bum -- I thought about your composter yesterday as I threw away chicken parts. I made broth, and almost called to see if you wanted the leftover stuff to compost!
